The strange ice sheets in Antarctica
A large block of ice looks like a giant mint candy, with beautiful blue, green and brown stripes. The other one looks like it's pierced by a spear.
The sparkling beauty of the Antarctic icebergs
These impressive ice sheets, formed thousands of years ago, are floating in the Antarctic. Some stripes are created when the ice sheets melt and solidify. Other lines formed by soil and dust clinging to the ice sheet created this block of ice sliding on a slope.

Most Antarctic ice blocks are formed when snow falls on the continent. Over time, snow formed ice and slipped into the sea. When it does, it will either break into water or form ice blocks .
The bandage is usually white due to the tiny bubbles stuck in it that emit light in every direction. However, if these bubbles are squeezed out, or part of the iceberg melts and solidifies, it will turn blue.
When an iceberg slips into the sea, a layer of saltwater will freeze at the bottom. If this water is rich in algae, it will form green stripes. Brown, black and yellow stripes are caused by sediment, formed when the ice sheet rubbed at the bottom when slipping to the sea. Normally, only about one tenth of the iceberg is on the water. The largest ice mountain is known to be 168 meters high on the sea - equivalent to a 55-story building.
