The universe is expanding faster and faster

A study of several hundred thousand galaxies showed that the rate of expansion of the universe increased with time.

Telegraph said more than 100 scientists from many countries have used the Hubble space telescope to monitor 446,000 galaxies to understand how matter is distributed in the universe and the rate of matter expansion. This is part of a project called Investigating the Universe's Evolution by the European Space Agency and the US Aerospace Agency.

To investigate, a camera on the Hubble Space Telescope captures 575 images of the space containing 446,000 galaxies. The shooting process took about 1,000 hours. During that time Hubble moved nearly 600 times around the earth. This is the largest survey that scientists have ever done with Hubble glasses.

Thanks to an X-ray-like technique, scientists can observe how light from distant galaxies is bent and deformed by dark matter as it spreads to Earth. They can then determine the structures of dark matter - which account for 80% of the universe.

The results show that the rate of expansion of the universe is increasing with time, as predicted by genius physicist Albert Einstein in his theory of relativity.

Scientists claim that the universe is made up of three components: ordinary matter, dark matter, and dark energy. Normal matter is objects like planets, stars. Dark matter is a kind of invisible material that creates gravity to form galaxies. Dark energy creates the force that causes the universe to expand.

Einstein's theory of relativity asserts that space and time are a geometric structure that can be changed by the activity of matter within it.

Ludovic Van Waerbeke, a physics and astronomer expert from Leiden University in the Netherlands and also on the survey, said: 'Our research results confirm that there is a form of energy that humans do not know causing the expansion rate of the universe to increase gradually. That acceleration causes dark matter to expand more, just as Einstein's argument.
