The universe is giving birth to a planet 3180 times more than Earth
The European Space Agency's Gaia satellite (ESA) has captured the closest exoplanet ever formed.
The European Space Agency's Gaia satellite (ESA) has captured the closest exoplanet formed to Earth.
The planet is in the "newborn" stage, called 2MASS J1155-7919b , orbiting its mother star 2MASS J1155-7919 , also known as T Chamaeleontis B. With a distance of 330 light years, it is closer to Earth any young planet or star-forming cloud has been discovered, so it is of great value to scientists working on the formation of celestial bodies.

Despite being a "newborn baby" , the planet is unbelievably large. It is a giant gas planet similar to Jupiter, but weighs about 10 times Jupiter, or about 3,180 times our Earth.
This will be a cold planet, because it is far away from the parent star of 600 astronomical units. An astronomical unit is the distance between the sun and the Earth.
The parent star of this planetary system is in the so-called "Chamaeleontis Association , " a group of stars that are 3-5 million years old.
Dr. Annie Dickson-Vandervelde from the School of Physics and Astronomy, of the Rochester Institute of Technology (USA), the lead author of the study, said that several times astronomers discovered large exoplanets. Why are you like that, but they are all "old" planets.
Therefore, this unique object is worth further study, including spectral tracking and images to determine the type of spectrum, age, brightness, thereby understanding the nature.
The research has just been published in the Research Notes of the American Astronomical Society.
