The US and South Korea discussed aerospace cooperation

On July 29, the leaders of the US and South Korean national space agencies met in the US capital, Washington, to discuss the prospect of cooperation in aeronautical research and space exploration between the two countries.

According to the announcement of the US Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA), during this first meeting, NASA Director Charles Bolden and President of the Korea Aviation Research Institute (KARI) Kim Seung Jo discussed the project. Moon explorer uses KARI's robots and NASA's asteroid initiative.

The two parties shared common interests in research activities as well as aviation cooperation. NASA and KARI have had years of cooperation in the framework of the International Space Exploration Group and are looking for more opportunities to cooperate in space exploration.

Earlier this year, South Korea successfully launched its first missile launch into space after two failed attempts in 2009 and 2010. The Asian nation is planning to launch an unmanned probe to the Moon. in 2020.

Meanwhile, NASA is also nurturing its own large space plan called the asteroid initiative . This initiative involves using robots to "capture" an asteroid near the Earth and adjust its movement according to the Moon's orbit for research purposes.
