The world's largest avocado costs nearly VND 300,000 a fruit
The giant avocado, which is about 5 times larger than this regular avocado, is being sold in Australia, although it costs up to 12 USD (more than 270,000 VND) per fruit.
This avocado is called Avozillas . The average weight is 1.2kg / fruit, with weight up to 1.8kg. However, this is not a gene mutation but a result of crossing between two other types of butter.

Avozillas butter is sourced from South Africa and this is the first time grown and harvested in Australia.
The new avocado variety is currently grown only at Grove's Grown Tropical Fruit Farm Tropical Fruits, in Queensland, Australia.
According to this farm, in addition to its oversized size, butter has a flavor that is similar to normal butter, though soft and spongy.

According to this farm owner, this year's Avozillas harvest of the farm is the result of 400 avocado trees planted 4 years ago.
Groves also said that all fruits were sold out within 2 days.
Since the first South African company to develop Avozillas avocado still holds rights to this giant avocado variety, any farmer who wants to grow must receive a license and pay royalties.
