There has been a policy to develop the digital content industry

On May 3, 2007, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung signed Decision No. 56/2007 / QD-TTg approving the Program on development of Vietnam's digital content industry by 2010.

The overall objective of the Program is to develop digital content industry into a number of key economic sectors, creating favorable conditions for people of all strata to access digital information content products, strongly promoting formation and development of information society and knowledge economy.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Post and Telematics to assume the prime responsibility and coordinate with ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies attached to the Government and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities in organizing the implementation of this program.

The program implementation cost is about VND 1,280 billion, taken from the state budget (40% of the central budget and 30% from the local budget); mobilize contributions from domestic and foreign organizations, businesses and individuals (accounting for 30%).
