T-Mobile Super Mobile Ameo launched
T-Mobile (Germany) has officially announced its new phone: T-Mobile Ameo. This is the version of HTC ultraportable Athena that was released earlier.
The product is also expected to appear under the code name HTC X7500 and Dopod U1000 in Asia. However T-Mobile is the only product officially introduced so far. The launch date of T-Mobile Ameo will be around March 2007, right before the opening of the CeBIT exhibition. In Asia it may be sold sooner.
HTC Athena is considered the most powerful mobile device today with a large 5-inch screen and integrated QWERTY keyboard. Although with such a large physical design, this ultraportable is equipped with Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system. It is also equipped with Intel 624Mhz processor, 8GB hard drive, 3MP camera and integrated GPS global positioning. With wireless connections, HTC Athena supports 3G HSDPA / UMTS standard, GSM / EDGE / GPRS, Wifi and Bluetooth.
T-Mobile Ameo will cost about 499 Euros (about 650 USD) with a 2-year contract. Price for Asian market is about 1200 USD.
