Tomorrow, radioactive clouds can cover Vietnam

The Ministry of Science and Technology predicts that radioactive cloud will probably cover Vietnam in the future, with the radiation level increasing 100 times compared to before, but not affecting human health.

Based on the image of the radioactive cloud model built on data from the monitoring stations of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBTO), the Ministry of Science assumes that in the worst case, the cloud The most recent strong radiation (blue) will cover Vietnam territory on April 10 .

At that time, the level of radioactivity in the air will increase by 100 times compared to previously detected levels.

" However, the observed radioactive concentration will be only a few thousand µBq / m3, which is still thousands of times lower than the limit value set by Vietnamese standards ", reported the segment .

Organizing CTBTO, radioactive clouds are recorded today in most areas of the Northern Hemisphere and some in the Southern Hemisphere. CTBTO measuring stations are very sensitive, can detect radioactivity in low concentrations has not affected human health.

The monitoring stations in Vietnam in the past two days recorded radioactivity, but at a very low level - about a few dozen µBq / m3 for the two major isotopes of I-131 and Cs-137. Meanwhile, the standard limit of Vietnam is 10 million µBq / m3 for I-131 and 2 million µBq / m3 for Cs-137.

The Ministry of Science and Technology yesterday also denied that online news recently said that " radioactive clouds from Japan have entered Vietnam at a very high level, so close to affecting human health " and affirmed. That was just a rumor.

The Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute is conducting analysis of some of Vietnam's seawater samples, but has not found abnormal radioactivity in seawater.
