Toshiba sells the first laptop model equipped with HD DVD-R drive
Toshiba has just launched in Japan the first laptop equipped with HD DVD-R reader drive, and will soon sell this laptop in the world market in the near future.
HD DVD-R is a "read-only" version of HD DVD format, and a single-sided disc can store up to 15GB of data. This format is a competitor to Blu-ray discs supported by Sony.
The Qosmio G30 / 97A is an upgraded model of the current Qosmio line (currently available in some countries). The basic configuration of the Qosmio Q30 includes: Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz processor; 17-inch screen with 1,920x1,280px resolution - enough to see sharp images of HD DVD discs; 320GB hard drive; digital television receiver; HDMI output; weight 4.8kg .
Toshiba introduced the Qosmio Q30 model at the CES International Electronic Trade Fair in Las Vegas last January. This laptop is sold for $ 3,085.
