Treatment of skin cancer without surgery in Cuba

The Cuban Ministry of Health has licensed registration for a new skin cancer drug called "Heberferon".

Heberferon is believed to have the most special formula in the world, helping to avoid having facial surgery.(Source: El Pais).

Biologist Iraldo Bello of CIGB claims that the formulation of this brand-name drug is unique in the world and is a blend of protein Interferon type alpha and gamma-type Interferon recombined at CIGB. This injectable drug is capable of eradicating or reducing tumors on non-melanoma skin and helps avoid surgery at complicated points like facial skin.

Up to now, CIGB has produced 10,000 doses of Heberferon, which is still in the development phase, with the aim of evaluating the effectiveness of other cancers on the basic drug list in the free medical system of Cuba.

This Caribbean island nation has a relatively high rate of skin cancer, mainly due to excessive sun exposure leading to ultraviolet radiation.

CIGB is also the manufacturer of two other famous products of the Cuban biopharmaceutical industry: the only vaccine to treat lung cancer in the world "Cimavax EGF" and the drug "Heberprot B" against diabetic complications leading to the need to cut remove the limbs.
