In the morning, the tropical depression entered Binh Dinh province and until 13:00 this afternoon weakened into a low area, located on the border area of Vietnam - Cambodia. Provinces from Quang Binh to Phu Yen and northern Central Highlands are very heavy, floods are rising very fast.

The central hydro-meteorological center said that tropical depressions combined with cold air have caused heavy rain for Thua Thien - Hue, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Binh Dinh and Gia Lai provinces. Specifically, floods in Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh are likely to exceed the most dangerous alarms (alert 3), rivers from Thua Thien - Hue to Quang Nam, northern Tay Nguyen in alarms 2 or 3. Rivers in Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Phu Yen, flood alarms 1 or approximately alarm 2. People need to prevent flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas, steep slopes and deep-lying flooding.

Yesterday morning, the Office of the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control issued an urgent request to the coastal provinces from Quang Tri to Ca Mau to inform the owners of offshore vehicles to know about the direction of low pressure to escape out of danger zone.

The above-mentioned coastal provinces, together with the Central Highlands, need to have a plan to cope with heavy rains causing floods, flash floods and landslides. Local authorities need to arrange people to strictly control ferry wharves across the river, deep traffic sections.
