Two scientists won the Nobel Prize to Vietnam

Professor of Nobel Prize in Physics 1999 and Nobel Economics in 2004 has just arrived in Binh Dinh to attend the Scientific Conference for Development.
Scientific workshop for development took place on 2-10 days in Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh. This is an opportunity for scientists and policy makers to discuss and clarify the role of basic science or applied science with the sustainable development of society. Participants also discussed the impact of science on economy and society; the contribution of science to policy making and the industrial revolution 4.0.
The workshop is within the framework of the 14th Meeting of Vietnam program , attracting hundreds of reputable domestic and international scientists. Among these were Professor Finn E. Kydland , Norwegian, the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2004 and Professor Gerard 't Hooft won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1999. The two professors will have important speeches in plenary sessions. .

Professor Finn E. Kydland has taught at the University of California, Santa Barbara (USA) since 2004, and is the president of the Jeff Henley Foundation. In 2016, he came to Vietnam to present issues related to economic policy and sustainable growth. He also gave many suggestions on Vietnam's macro-policy management such as inflation, public debt, free trade, world economic integration.
And Professor Gerard 't Hooft is a theoretical physicist. His work focused on measurement theory, black holes, quantum gravity and the fundamental aspect of quantum mechanics.

In 2017, Prof. Gerard inspired students of Hanoi National University with a presentation on black holes and new studies related to this field.
The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee and some organizations.
