Many people thought that it was a horse, but there were also people who assumed the figure resembled a dragon. That involved the legend of Saint George and the Dragon Hill, a low hill lying in a valley down the White Horse Hill.
According to legend, this is the place where St. George helped people to eliminate an evil dragon, blood flowing into a dragon, making it impossible for the grass to grow. The white horse can be drawn from 3,000 years ago, the earliest document about Uffington written in 1070 and in 1190 historians mentioned in the periodic stories about British history.
