In the daytime, the snakes' noses often lie hidden on tree branches or dry leaves of the same color as their bodies in Madagascar's rainforests.

At night, they become more active and travel more to feed. Their favorite food is lizards.

Leaf snake is bisexual . They inherit the breed by laying eggs. The male snake-nosed snakes are usually brown in the back and yellow in the abdomen and the elongated snout, while the gray-spotted females on the back and the nose are shorter and more grainy.

Leaf snakes are also a poisonous species, however, their venom is not deadly.
