Use Mozilla to send and receive messages in Gmail

Gmail is a very useful mail service, Mozilla is an effective and highly secure mail management tool. So why don't we combine the two to get the best mailbox? This article will introduce you to the fastest way to send and receive messages in Gmail with Mozilla 1.7.

1. Set parameters in Mozilla 1.7

First, download Mozilla at www.softwarepatch.com/software/mozilladownload.html

or http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.7.12/mozilla-win32-1.7.12-installer.exe

After installation, go to Start> All Programs> Mozilla 1.7 to open the program. When the Mozilla window appears, go to Edit> Mail and Newsgroup Account Settings ., then click Add Account . Next, select Email account> Next to open the window. declare in Mozilla, then fill in the required information including your name and Gmail address, click Next . Select POP in the new window, enter pop.gmail.com into the Incoming Server line and smtp.gmail.com in the Outgoing Server line and click Next .

Enter your Gmail address in the Incoming User Name and Outgoing User Name section and click Next . Enter the Gmail mailbox identification name in the Account Name box, remember that each mailbox should get a different name. Check the declared information. Finally click Finish to confirm the selection.

Select the Server Settings tab under your mailbox identification name, uncheck Use secure connection (SSL) on the right row to protect your password. Check if port 995 appears in the Port box.

Also in the Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings window, select the Outgoing Server (SMTP) item in the left pane, type smtp.gmail.com if you do not see it appear in the Server Name box, then type the Gmail mail receiving port as 587 in the section Port . Uncheck Use name and password , then put your Gmail address inside. Check the TLS box under the Use secure connection row. Finally click OK .

2- Set parameters in Gmail

Log in to your Gmail inbox. Click the Settings link in the upper left corner of the Gmail window. Click the Forwarding and POP tab in the Mail Settings window.

Uncheck Enable POP for all mail if you want to apply mail forwarding to all existing messages or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on if you want to only start mail transfer since the time you were set up. Finally click Save Changes to confirm.

Now that your Gmail and Mozilla are ready to use, open Mozilla, select Local Folders , and then click Send and Receive All to start downloading mail from Gmail.
