A rare dust storm caused a multi-vehicle crash and left residents in California's Central Valley without power on November 11, 2024.

Emily Wilson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Hanford, said the storm, known as Haboob, swept through the valley from about 1 p.m. to just after 4 p.m. Several people were injured in a crash on California 99. In addition, Pacific Gas & Electric reported power outages for about 15,000 residents in Fresno County as the storm swept through.
