A city in the state of Queensland, northern Australia, had to mobilize helicopters, guns and horns to drive away about 80,000 bats, which reside in the city and cause trouble for locals.

The sound of horns, guns and helicopters all rang out to try to make the bats panic and to leave the town.
Charters Tower officials had to use this method to drive away bats after conventional measures did not work.
Bats in large numbers have resided in a local park, causing trouble for the townspeople.
Ayla Pott, manager of a shop, said the smell of bats has caused passengers to stay away from her store."They smell bad. There are days when I can't open the window , " she said.
The town council plans to use sound measures for 10 consecutive days to scare away bats.
