Vietnam attended APICTA 2006 with 12 IT products
12 Vietnamese products participated in the 6th Asia-Pacific Information and Communication Technology Award (APICTA), which opened Monday morning in Macau.
On November 2, 2006 at the MaCao Special Zone Conference Center, the Asia-Pacific (Asia Pacific ICT Awards - APICTA) Asia-Pacific Information Technology (ICT) Award was officially declared. .

Members attending APICTA 2006 include: Vietnam, Singapore, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, MaCau, Malaysia, Australia, Brunei, China with 175 products to compete, an increase of 13 products compared to 2005.
Vietnam APICTA delegation consists of representatives from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai participating in the contest with 12 products (up 3 compared to 2005) in 09 fields: Education and Training, Health, Industry, Tourism, e-Government and public services, Information security, Application and infrastructure class tools, Total solutions, Media and entertainment. Products include:
- Products 'Information security gate on non-standard isolation technology' of Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology.
- Solution of overall management of MEDISOFT hospital of Global LINKS Company
- Online medical examination solution of medical software development company.
- Restaurant management software solution of Young Intelligence Company.
- ERP enterprise management information system of Pyramid Company (PYTHIS).
- Curriculum for lesson plan and multiple choice exam 2.0 of Anh Ngoc Informatics Software Company Limited.
- Operational Information Operating System for enterprises and organizations eDocman of CMC Company.
- AWB Framework product of AZ Solution Joint Stock Company
- Cabin simulated driving practice of Design Automation Software Company (CADPRO).

On November 3, the Vietnamese delegation entered the competition with 06 contest products, the remaining 06 products continued to be presented on November 4.

APICTA is an annual award, examining the quality and results of regional and international IT products.This award was established by the initiative of former Malaysian Prime Minister Dato Mahathir Mohamat;first held in 2001, 2002 held in Malaysia, 2003 in Thailand, 2004 in Hong Kong, 2005 in Thailand and this year in Macau.
APICTA Gold Cup is awarded to professional and industrial products in 15 areas of ICT application: Education and Training, Health, Industry, Telecommunications, Tourism, Finance, Information Security, E-government and public services, Total solutions, Research and development solutions, Media and entertainment, Application and infrastructure layer tools, Enterprise creation, University student ICT project, ICT project for high school students.
