The system also has software that accurately calculates the dose, position of radiotherapy, reduces radiotherapy time to 1-2 minutes, helping patients minimize the effects of radiation to healthy tissues.

In particular, patients undergoing surgery with this system are still covered by health insurance as usual.

Parallel treatment equipment is a PET / CT system with the ability to detect cancer at the earliest stages where imaging diagnostic devices such as CT and MRT cannot be detected.

PET / CT is also used to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, to determine whether the patient has metastatic cells.

In the North , only 3 hospitals with PET / CT systems include: Viet Duc, BV 108 and K.

Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Viet Tien assessed that when putting these two systems in operation, it will help cancer patients increase treatment opportunities in the early stages, increase treatment effectiveness and reduce costs.

According to the Research Institute for Cancer Prevention, it is estimated that in Vietnam there are about 94,000 people die of cancer / year, the death rate ranked 78 out of 171 countries surveyed.
