Vietnam overtakes Thailand in innovation
Vietnam surpassed Thailand, ranked 3rd in Southeast Asia in the Global Innovation Index (GII).
According to the newly announced Global Innovation Index Index 2015, Vietnam ranked 52 out of 141 economies, up 19 grades compared to last year.

The GII report is published by the World Intellectual Property Organization in conjunction with Cornell University (USA) and INSEAD Business Academy (France).
The leading economies in 2015 rankings are: Switzerland, England, Sweden, Netherlands and America.
In Southeast Asia alone, Vietnam ranked third, second only to Singapore and Malaysia, surpassing Thailand in innovation.
The global innovation index was built to provide a multidimensional perspective on innovation. In 2015, the index was built for 141 economies - accounting for 95.1% of the world's population and 98.6% of the global GDP.
Vietnam is ranked among the countries with the breakthrough growth in innovation.
According to the report, Vietnam and some other economies such as China, Malaysia, India, Jordan and Kenya are considered to go further than economies with the same level of economic development in innovation. .
Accordingly, Vietnam is ranked 2nd in innovation in the group of low-middle income countries.
The report also affirmed that the policies of developing innovation and the movement of scientific and technological organizations are the reasons for helping economies such as Vietnam to make remarkable progress on innovation. in the last year.
