Le Van Cong was born in 1986 in Ha Tinh. His legs were shrunken because his mother had dengue fever during pregnancy. The boy grew up in guilt because of his disability, and in 2005 he set out for the South with a desire to win fate.
Cong then joined the class at a young disabled handicraft club in Ho Chi Minh City, then was introduced to the weightlifting club's fitness and exercise program in Tan Binh district. He has a strong interest in weightlifting from here and has brought a lot of achievements for the Vietnamese disabled sports team in regional, continental and world arenas.
The previous outstanding achievements of Le Van Cong include the national silver medal in 2005, the 2007 Asian gold medal, the silver medal in the 2007 world weightlifting championship, the gold Para Games 2009, 2014, the world silver medal in 2014, HC gold Asian Games 2014, Asian gold HC 2015.
