Vinegar helps detect cervical cancer

According to the New York Times, using vinegar can play an important part in curing patients with cervical cancer in poor countries.

The research process was carried out by the team of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine (USA) in the 1990s and with the support of the World Health Organization in 2010. The process is very simple: Doctors has applied vinegar to a woman's cervix, which will turn white spots of cancer to white. After that, the team will paralyze these white spots with metal rods cooled by CO2 - this is a more viable alternative to liquid nitrogen. The process is effective up to 90%.

Thailand is one of the countries that doesn't pay much attention to this dangerous cervical cancer. However, doctors and nurses have begun to shift from the Pap mears to this cold treatment , although it is still too early to conclude whether the rate of cancer has decreased.

There is still a lot of doctors' doubts on this cold treatment. However, this is still a positive signal to detect this dangerous disease.

Every year more than 250,000 women die from this disease worldwide, of which 85% are in poor or near poor countries. These countries often cannot afford to pay for Pap smear labs. Therefore, less expensive solutions will be very effective for detecting cancer in these areas.
