The phenomenon of virtual sun was observed in Moscow on January 19 at the time the temperature was -20 degrees C. From afar, these large halos created a scene of three suns appearing at the same time.

The virtual sun is scientifically called parhelion . This is an optical phenomenon that occurs when the sun approaches the horizon. When the virtual sun appears, light is refracted through ice crystals in the air and forms halo like the real sun.

The virtual halo is red in the position closest to the sun, the farther positions are green or yellow. This phenomenon can be seen anywhere in the world, throughout the four seasons of the year, but not always the virtual sun is clear.
