Want to send your name to Mars? NASA will help!

From now until November 1, Earth citizens have the opportunity to send their names to Mars on a NASA spaceship departing in May 2018.

Specifically, the US Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) plans to launch an InSight space ship on Mars next year.

In addition to the main task of exploring the red planet, InSight will bring two silicon chips containing the names of those who send information to NASA before November 1 at this address: https: //mars.jpl.nasa .gov / participate / send-your-name / insight /

In 2015, NASA offered the invitation to the public and nearly 827,000 people registered. Initially InSight expected to carry only one chip, but this year NASA decided to add a second chip to give people more opportunities.

"Mars always makes space enthusiasts feel excited. This opportunity allows them to become part of a space ship with the mission to explore the red planet" - Bruce Banerdt, principal supervisor of InSight program, speaking.

As expected, the InSight spacecraft will depart from Earth in May 2018 and arrive in Mars in November. InSight stands for "Inner exploration by seismic survey, measurement and heat transport ".

With the study of the inner structure of Mars, scientists hope to understand more about the processes that help form rocky planets like Mars and Earth.

Readers can send names to NASA from today with a very simple fill-in step. When completed, a ticket with the name printed will automatically be displayed for everyone to print, download or share on Facebook.

In addition, participants will earn points "regular passengers" , acknowledging their participation in NASA's mission missions. When the Orion spacecraft was first launched in December 2014, there were 1.38 million people registered.
