'We are working with Arecibo Astronomical Observatory to find the best encryption. Previous messages were very simple, but the message this time will be more complicated but it will be difficult to mix with more natural sounds, "said Kristin Montalbano, spokesman for National Geographic.

Credits Wow! just light spots on the radar screen. These are sounds different from noise in nature discovered four decades ago that astronomers still rely on to find signs of extraterrestrial life.

In 1977, the Big Ear radio station at Ohio State University obtained strong radio signals for 72 seconds, prompting astronomer Jerry Ehman to say "Wow!" (Oh!). This word is therefore used to name the signal.

No one knows whether the signals seem to be not natural by aliens or not, although scientists have long been trying to understand. Now, 35 years after discovering the signal, Wow! still a complete mystery.

If the signal is actually transmitted by aliens, scientists believe it must have come from an extremely advanced civilization, because a 2.2 gigawatt radio transmitter - more powerful any radio station on earth today.
