Many passengers have asked the question: "Why are aircraft often painted white?". Explaining this, the Daily Stars gave a number of reasons:

Ensure safety

White is considered to be the best color to display unusual signals, including the determination of oil spills, cracks in the aircraft case or some other dangerous problems that may occur. In case of an accident, white is easily found in water or on the ground, as well as easier to see in the dark.

Cost savings

The cost of painting an airplane is often very large, lasting for about 2-3 weeks. Besides, the more colors means the weight of aircraft increases, leading to more fuel waste. Therefore, the resale price of colored aircraft will be lower and more difficult because buyers will have to repaint from the top, heavier fuselage.

In addition, an aircraft will need to be sprayed several times in life due to direct contact with the sun and air. In this case, white color is less prone to discoloration and maintains perfect appearance.

White absorbs heat less than other colors

The poor heat absorption of white helps to maintain a low plane temperature, while other colors absorb more light and convert into thermal energy, making everything hot.
