Why do girls like pink?
Boys like blue, girls like pink, and this is not controversial. But researchers recently claimed that this color preference has an evolutionary reason.
Boys like blue, girls like pink, and this is not controversial. But researchers recently claimed that this color preference has an evolutionary reason.
According to the research team at Newcastle University, UK, the difference in color preferences stems from the division of labor from prehistoric times. Women, who are pickers, like things that are red in color because it is associated with ripe fruits and a healthy face.
Previous studies say that blue is a popular color globally and there is little evidence of a gender difference in color selection. In the new study, the group asked men and women to look at different colored rectangular pairs on the computer screen and pick out the ones they like best as quickly as possible.
After examining the spectrum, the group likes men who tend to choose blue, while women tend to be reddish."Women's preferences have a clear pattern. It is low in the yellow-green zone and peaks in the purple-red zone," said Anya Hurlbert, neuroscientist at Newcastle University.
Hurlbert believed that women's pink preferences also evolved from natural interests to blue."When you instinctively mix colors you will get a bluish red, which is purple purple".
For men, colors are less important because they are hunters so just focus on what is dark and shoots. As for women, red is the color of ripe fruit.
