Yahoo announces new Bodyprint recognition technology

Yahoo Labs has announced a new technology called 'Bodyprint', according to foreign media reports.

This technology will identify different parts of the body as a biometric sign , such as by determining the shape of the ear to determine not the owner of the handset, from which can hear the phone.

Users only need to put the mobile phone's display attached to the ear, the phone will proceed to determine . Compared with traditional fingerprints, or against input PINs or swipe gestures, this method is thought to be more convenient.

In addition to ear shape recognition, other parts of the body like the palm of your hand will also be used to identify the user . The reason why choosing body parts, rather than fingerprint recognition directly on the screen, is because now the touch screen resolutions have not yet reached the accuracy of identifying a mark. But the accuracy of this technology is still pending further improvement. Currently the false rejection rate of this technology is about 26.82%.
