Yahoo Search has a structure search feature

Yahoo said it is preparing to add structured search to Yahoo Search. With this feature, users will no longer have to struggle to find information in each search results page.

For example, if a user enters a keyword search for 'mobile phone'. Then instead of searching and displaying any results that contain the phrase 'mobile phone' Yahoo Search will sort the results according to a specific classification structure such as phone brand, technology, specification .

Once the user has selected the category by request, Yahoo Search will display a list of products with specific features, appropriate prices and specific addresses where the user can purchase the product.

Ricardo Baeza-Yates - Yahoo's vice president of Europe and Latin America - said the feature would be particularly useful for e-commerce applications such as online sales. However, he did not disclose exactly when the feature will be added to Yahoo Search.

Searching by structure is one of the 'trump card' features that Yahoo intends to launch in the near future to compete with rivals such as Google or Microsoft.

In addition, Baeza-Yates said that Yahoo is also working on developing a distributed search architecture that can further speed search.

Yahoo's future will also deploy data servers in many different countries. These will be the key to speed up the search for users in those countries.
