Although consuming these foods does not affect driving, it still causes alcohol on the breath, although not significant. About 30 minutes after eating or drinking a lot of water, the body will eliminate all alcohol.

Additionally, a small number of people with gastroesophageal reflux syndrome or those with autonomic alcohol syndrome may also have a positive result on a breath alcohol test.

Alcoholic fruit beverage products can also increase blood alcohol levels. Although not classified as alcohol, this is a food classified as an alcoholic beverage, so people should be cautious.

To avoid increasing alcohol concentration even if you don't drink alcohol but just by eating foods containing alcohol, Dr. Hoang recommends that we rest for 30 minutes after eating, rinse our mouths, and then drink more filtered water. In case your alcohol level is still high, you can ask the authorities to rest for another 15 minutes and then measure again.

The World Health Organization (WHO) introduces the concept of alcohol unit as follows: One alcohol unit is equivalent to 10 g of pure ethanol, equal to 200 ml of beer; 75 ml of wine (1 glass); 25ml brandy (1 cup). Adults with normal health, on average, every hour, the liver will eliminate one unit of alcohol.

In general, experts say that it is impossible to calculate the absolute time to eliminate alcohol because it depends on each person's body and diet. The best recommendation is not to drive while drinking to avoid risks .
