5,000-year-old wooden boat excavation
French archaeologists have unearthed a 5,000-year-old wooden boat in the west of Cairo, Egypt.
Archaeologists are measuring this newly excavated boat.
According to Dailymail, this 5,000-year-old wooden boat was unearthed at Abu Rawash, west of Cairo, Egypt. According to experts, the boat may belong to the reign of Egypt's first king, the Pharaoh Den era.
The wooden boat, 6m long, 1.5m wide, excavated in a timber condition is still very good.
Experts said the boat could be buried after the owner died.
This 5,000-year-old wooden boat will be restored by experts.
Experts appreciate the historical value of this wooden boat and are expected to restore the original. The Oriental Archaeological Institute in France said that after the restoration, the boat will be transported to the National Museum of the Middle East for display.
Also according to Dailymail, in 1954, an Egyptian archaeologist discovered a 43m long solar boat, belonging to the reign of Pharaoh Khufu, 4,500 years ago.
