8,000 people were killed in flooding in India
On June 24, the rescue of flood victims in Uttarakhand state, northern India, had to be halted due to continued rain pouring in and causing two landslides on the roads Rudraprayag - Guptkashi and Rishikesh - Uttarkashi .
