Admire the cherry tree which is classified by the Japanese government as a national treasure

The Japanese government placed Jindai Zakura in the national treasure. And believe it, this cherry root dates up to 1,800 years old.

Speaking of Japan, people think of two things. The first is sushi, and the second is sakura - or cherry blossoms.

The period around the end of March to the beginning of May is always considered as the unforgettable tourist season of Japan. The slave people pulled to the island nation of the Rising Sun, because this was the time when tens of thousands of sakura trees began to show their pinks in the spring sunshine.

Each area has different blooming time, once it has bloomed, it is only 3-4 days, then the flower will fall and make room for young buds. During this period, Japanese people practice with their families and friends to participate in the Flower Festival (Hanami).

And if you are one of those who came to Japan to attend the festival, please do not ignore the city of Hokuto (in Takekawacho prefecture, Yamanashi prefecture). Because this place has Jindai Zakura.

According to legend, Jindai Zakura was planted on the Jissoji Temple campus, by Yamato Takeru - the 12th emperor of Japan, reigning until the end of the first century AD.

Although the identity of King Yamato is still a mystery, the most important thing is that the tree is real, and has been classified by the Japanese government as a national treasure.

In fact, there are 2 other thousand cherry blossoms in Japan, but Jindai Zakura is the oldest. The other 2 trees are Miharu Takizakura (1000 years old - Fukushima) and Usuzumi Sakura (1500 years old, in Moyosu, Gifu Prefecture). Both are also classified as national treasures.

The name Jindai Zakura means "sacred generations" , and the tree itself is also associated with stories related to gods. As Jikiju Matsunaga - abbot of Jisso-ji Temple said: "Jindai Zakura used to die in the 12th century. Everyone was worried, until Grand Master Nichiren came and prayed. Thanks to the Buddha, The tree has lived to this day ".
