Scientists at the University of Pennsylvania believe they have found the cause of baldness - an enzyme that inhibits the growth of hair follicles.

Dr. George Cotsarelis has said he has negotiated with many pharmaceutical companies to develop bald remedies in the next 2 years. Research works of TS. Cotsarelis and colleagues have previously found that cells with hair-forming functions cannot develop, leading to baldness.

In the laboratory, scientists found that PGD2 compounds prevent mature hair cells. This is the active ingredient in asthma and allergy drugs that prevent hair loss.
