Apple's solar power farm was built in partnership with "Apple" with Nevada energy agency and solar solution company, SunPower.

The solar power farm will adopt the latest technology that allows solar panels to focus seven times more sunlight than conventional solar cells, thus increasing the amount of electricity generated.

"All of Apple's data centers use 100% renewable energy, and we are on track to achieve that goal in our new Reno data center by focusing on efficient use of the power source. Solar, " Apple said in a statement.

Apple also added: "This project will not only provide renewable energy for our data center but also provide clean energy for the local grid."

When completed, Apple's solar farm will generate 43.5 million kilowatt hours of electricity. Apple describes it as enough power for 6,400 passenger cars using electricity running on the road each year.

With a high-tech platform and large financial resources, the "Web giants" like Apple, Google, Facebook and Amazon have asked their giant data centers to use clean, stable energy sources, thereby supporting campaigns to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of environmental protection organizations.
