The decisions made momentarily can make the difference between life and death

According to Sky News, a virtual assistant from the artificial intelligence system "Guardian Angel" named Audrey will help firefighters make vital decisions in seconds.

NASA design office (USA) said AI will collect data on temperature, gas and other important signals, then process these statistics to make suggestions and instructions firefighters when they participated in extinguishing a fire.

Mark James, from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, said: "Since all of this data is collected by sensors and gives accurate forecasts, firefighters do not need to run. to the next room when the floor is about to collapse ".

The system uses firefighters' sensors to monitor their GPS location as well as the temperature in the surrounding area, and even any dangerous type of chemical. Ambient substances can also be detected.

The name of the virtual assistant, Audrey , stands for Assistant for Understanding Data through Reasoning, Extraction, and sYnthesis. This system is backed by the US Department of Homeland Security, and is also used by police officers and other support forces when needed.

It is known that researchers took up to 9 months to develop this system. It is expected to be put to the test in 2017.

The purpose of Audrey virtual assistant is to connect all sensors and become guardian angels for firefighters.

Program director Edward Chow shared: "The purpose of Audrey's virtual assistant is to connect all sensors and become guardian angels for firefighters. Due to the characteristics of firefighters, they must move continuously. In a complex environment, Andrey can send notifications via a mobile device or through a built-in display on a helmet ".

He added: "We use sophisticated deductive methods to simulate the way people think. This allows us to provide more useful information for firefighters than a system. ordinary AI system ".
