August 17 morning will have a partial eclipse

Following the solar eclipse and meteor shower Perseids, on the morning of August 17, another special astronomical event will take place: partial eclipse.

The eclipse usually takes place on full moon nights, when the Moon enters the dark area behind the Earth. At this time the Moon is no longer directly illuminated by the Sun, so it is not as bright as usual. When the Moon enters the half-shadow area, there will be a half-moon eclipse, and when entering the dark area there will be a full or partial eclipse.

According to NASA, this partial eclipse has a large coverage, 81% is observed in most parts of the world, except North America.

Time of the lunar eclipse in the morning of August 17 according to NASA data (Vietnam time):

- 1: 23, the Moon enters the dark half of the Earth. The eclipse of the moon begins, this transformation is difficult to identify with the eye, but if you pay close attention to the color of the Moon, it will be a bit dark.

- 2:30 pm, the Moon begins to enter the shadow of the Earth. Partial eclipse begins, the shaded corner will turn dark red.

- 4:10, maximum eclipse, 81% of the moon disc will be dark red.

- 5:44, The Moon completely out of the dark. Finish the dark area on the Moon.

- 6:57, The Moon completely left the half-dark area. Ending the lunar eclipse.

The real moon this time takes place when the moon is setting, at the time of the maximum moon eclipse is still quite high, about more than 20 degrees in the west, convenient for observation if not covered by tall buildings and heaven Rainy and cloudy.

After the lunar eclipse of the morning of August 17, it is not until 2010 that observers in Vietnam have the opportunity to admire this phenomenon.
