Contact lenses use biological materials to help people with hypertension
For people with severe nearsightedness , there are many ways such as wearing glasses or laser surgery to improve vision. However, these are the methods of the past, and in the future, a kind of biological contact lenses that are implanted in the eyes can help your eyesight 3 times higher than 10/10 vision.
That's what Dr. Garth Webb declared, with his Bionic Lens Ocumetic project . This is a type of contact lenses that use biological materials, can be permanently implanted into the human eye in an operation that lasts only 8 minutes with a simple method such as corneal transplantation.
Ocumetic Bionic Lens (pictured) was created by Dr. Garth Webb. He claims surgery to implant the lens is as painless and gentle as cataract surgery and restores the scene within 10 seconds. Although he did not reveal the intricate details of this technology, he said that it created three-fold vision compared to 20/20.
All will change after only 10 seconds when the patient is admitted to Bionic Lens, the vision of the patient will not only recover as normal but it will be 3 times higher than the vision of 10/10. This means that your eyes have 3x zoom capability compared to normal eyes.
Currently the technology used in this biological contact lens has not been published, but according to Dr. Webb, the glasses are very safe and do not affect the physiological function of the eye.
He also sent the sample to 14 leading ophthalmologists around the world. They all thought this was an amazing invention and would conduct clinical trials in the near future.
He also stated that the Bionic Lens Ocumetic will be tested on animals before being ready for transplantation on humans in 2017. His project took 8 years of research and the investment amounted to 3 million USD.
There are also many technology companies that are researching and manufacturing smart contact lenses, which help increase human eyesight by digital methods, and display many other information. Very likely in the future, devices like Google Glass will be scaled down to just one contact lens.
