In the beginning of the Second Life design, one of the team members introduced this book to all of us. At first, I thought that the title was boring and the cover was not very attractive, but then because the person convinced me so badly, I had to take it and read it. Now I think de Soto deserves to receive a Nobel Prize for what he analyzed in the book.

The basic content of the book is that all economically successful countries must start from ensuring that people have the freedom to own, transfer and mortgage real estate. This is a VERY IMPORTANT idea, because according to that, inventions like the stock market and banks will not be the key to prosperity as people often think. Instead, the secret is that every individual must become an "entrepreneur" with the land they live in. This is also our main idea when conducting the online 3-D world of Second Life.

Every business must focus on competition, but this book has shown too focused on the current markets that will make you lose the opportunity. "Red Sea" is a symbol that represents the identified markets where strategies should focus on cutting costs, increasing revenue and market share. And the "blue sea" represents markets that have not been eyeed, are still waiting for leaders with vision to discover. They can only be explored when you have a different, market-wise approach.
