While driving near Birdlip, Gloucestershire, Mr. Reyaz Limalia saw a bright halo in the sky. He stopped the car to capture this rare sight.

But at that moment, Mr. Limalia felt almost completely blind and nearly crashed into another vehicle because the glow of the halo was too bright to reflect straight into his eyes.

However, in the end, Mr. Limalia took a picture of this strange halo. Mr. Limalia said: " This is the most spectacular natural phenomenon I've ever seen ."

" This is not the usual rainbow, " Limalia said. " This circle is formed by refracting sunlight through ice crystals in the clouds. It is a rock rainbow phenomenon." .

The light that Mr. Limalia captured was a circle around the sun. This halo is formed by thin ice crystals in atmospheric clouds, also known as cirrus clouds. We can only see this halo when the sun is very high, when the temperature is 58 degrees or more.
