Tianjin City Observatory also issued a similar warning. Many roads in these two cities are also affected by fog. Many parts of Beijing and Tianjin City's 13 expressways are blocked. Police are constantly being called out to solve traffic jams and accidents.
The highway from Beijing to Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning Province (northeastern China) has only recently passed at 9:33 am (November 20). Many Baoding and Shijiazhuang passengers, the two largest cities in Hebei Province (north China), had to wait many hours at the bus stop in Liuliqiao because the vehicles were delayed because the highway stopped.
At the international airport in the capital of Beijing, the view is only 600 m, resulting in more than 80 flights forced to postpone, especially trips to Shandong Province. The airport has made an emergency plan to deal with the fog to avoid major congestion.
According to experts, this dense fog is due in part to an increase in pollutants in Beijing, particularly severe in the winter due to increased emissions from coal heating systems.
