China promotes prevention of bird flu

The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture mobilized 12 local working teams to monitor bird flu prevention and control after the outbreak was confirmed in Guangdong.

Avian flu broke out in Guangzhou earlier this month, killing 9,830 poultry. According to a local official, Guangzhou carried out the destruction of 153,320 poultry. The destruction of poultry takes place in nine villages within a radius of 3km from the outbreak.
