Choose to create new rice varieties with high productivity

News from the Hybrid Rice Research and Development Center (Institute of Food and Food Plants under the Institute of Agricultural Sciences) said that it has chosen and created a new rice variety with high yield.

The new rice variety is called HTY100, giving good rice, soft rice, light fragrance, has been registered with Thien Huong HYT100 exclusive brand.

In particular, this rice variety has a short growth period of about 125–130 days of late spring; 105–110 days with the early crop. The height of the tree is 95–100cm, strong tillering, medium green leaves, vertical leaf angle, good anti-spill, cold and pest resistance, high productivity: spring crop 75–90 kg / ha; season 65-70 quintals / ha.

Reportedly, the new HYT100 rice variety has been recognized as a temporary rice variety since 2005, which has been tested in localities such as Thanh Hoa, Thai Binh, Hung Yen, Hanoi, Yen Bai and Hai Duong.

Test results in the above regions show that the above rice varieties give high yield and uniform grain quality.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tri Hoan - Director of Institute of Food and Food, the development and replication of 3-line HYT100 hybrid rice has contributed to the development of the rice market, ensuring economic efficiency. on a cultivating unit of farmers and ensuring national food security.
