Climate change will cause marine fish to die massively

A new harm from the phenomenon of climate change has been discovered. And this time it is related to the mass death of fish.

In the United States, scientists have come up with a conclusion that must startle us. The amount of oxygen contained in seawater is at its lowest level ever, and the only cause is: climate change .

More specifically, scientists from the US National Center for Meteorological Research in Colorado said that climate change is reducing the amount of dissolved oxygen in seawater.

This situation is so serious that aquatic species like fish, squid, crab, crustaceans . are having trouble in breathing problems.

According to Dr. Matthew Long, the research owner: "The loss of oxygen in the sea is a serious consequence of the warming process of the Earth, because the concentration of oxygen depends very much on the wind and water temperature".

Oxygen in water can come from algae, seaweed, or from the wind.

Like terrestrial animals, oxygen is also a vital element of marine life . Dr. Long said that oxygen in the water comes mainly from algae and seaweed, but also from the wind.

As the water temperature rises, the oxygen absorbed will decrease, while the amount of oxygen inherent in the water will be difficult to descend to the deep water because the temperature difference is quite high. This means that the ocean floor areas are the most affected.

To prove this, Dr. Long and colleagues used a computational model to measure the temperature of the ocean over the years. As a result, they found that the process of de-oxygenation in the water is taking place and has an effect on the southern Indian Ocean , part of the eastern Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean .

As expected, if the climate change situation continues to " maintain its current level" , the oxygen concentration can be reduced to an alarming level for the next 15 - 30 years.

And even, scientists believe that this phenomenon will cause mass deaths in the future.
