Witnessing the sand python giving birth, many viewers were confused because they thought that reptiles like pythons and snakes only lay eggs.

This process of a python giving birth was recorded by the Reptile Protection Center and posted on Facebook and has so far attracted more than 9 million views.

In the clip, a large sand python is struggling to give birth. However, instead of laying eggs, it gives birth to 6 baby pythons. As soon as they are born, the baby pythons have a complete shape, can open their eyes and open their mouths wide as if preparing to hunt.

Viewers were amazed to see the birth of the pythons and many assumed that all snakes lay eggs.

Gina Kircher writes : "Wait, am I crazy to think that all snakes lay eggs?".

Sand boas are among the 30% of viviparous snake species that live mainly in cooler areas. The gestation period for viviparous snakes is 100-150 days. They usually give birth to about 10 young and up to 64. Thanks to their hunting instincts, young snakes can fend for themselves from birth.
