Cockroach pet taken to the surgical hospital because of pregnancy complications

An Archimandrita cockroach was operated on by doctors in Krasnoyarsk city after experiencing "pregnancy complications".

Doctors are operating on cockroaches.

The cockroach native to the jungle of South America was rushed to the emergency by its owner, although buying a new insect would be much faster and cheaper. The procedure for the pet cockroach surgery was posted on Twitter by the veterinarians at Limpopo clinic on December 22.

Doctors say they have never met a small patient, only about 8cm long, but still decided not to leave the cockroach. They used three types of analgesics, an injection, a local anesthetic, and anesthetic gas to make the animal feel comfortable.

The operation was successful when doctors removed the egg sac from the cockroach cocoon. Many people also compare the surgery process with a famous fairy tale in Russia.

The patient is then sent back to the owner.
