According to Assoc. Dr. Ha Minh Hoa, Director of the Institute of Geodesy and Mapping, the completion of the national gravity measurement system plays a very important role in many different industries.

Earth-wide gravity data will help us to determine the temporal variation of the gravity field, which serves to determine the vertical displacement of the Earth's natural surface. natural disaster and global climate change. These data will also help us to study the geological structure of the deep layers in the earth and to explore and search for minerals as well as groundwater.

Mr. Hoa said, when building national gravity measurement system, we have used technology absolute gravity. This method not only provides greater accuracy but also saves a lot of money as it does not require transportation as well as facilitates the development of gravity points in the islands of Vietnam's seas.

"With the construction of the national gravity system by absolute gravity measurements, Vietnam is on the list of not so many countries with state-of-the-art national gravity systems ," he said.

Mr. Hoa also said that in the coming time, the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography will carry out the mountainous force as well as in the East Sea of Vietnam by air gravity method.
