Ultrasound therapy reduces sperm count in mice to a much lower level than normal male mice.

However, the method of contraception for men using ultrasound still needs more research time."More research is needed to determine how long the therapy will last and how many times it will be used safely , " said James Tsuruta, a researcher at the University of North Carolina.

Sperm develops in the testes and goes through many intermediate stages. Researchers aim at the early stages of sperm development, so the effectiveness of ultrasound therapy can last for several months.
