Controversial 'ghost race': Leaving 'treasure' but... evaporated?

Scientists are trying to solve the puzzle of 1,930 pieces of limestone shaped like meticulously crafted spearheads: is it really evidence of a ghost tribe that explored Central America 30,000 years ago or simply a Nature's joke?

According to Gizmodo , a research team led by archaeologist James Chatters from the archaeological company Applied Paleosicence has just had a work to refute the conclusions of a team of scientists led by archaeologist Ciprian Ardelean from the University of Zacatecas (Mexico). about 1,930 mysterious limestone fragments unearthed at the Chiquihuite Caves in Zacatecas (Mexico).

While Dr Ardelean's team asserts that the rock fragments were made by human hands as tools from 30,000 years ago, Dr Chatters' team concluded they could have been formed by natural processes.

According to Science Alert, Dr. Chatters said that the theory of archaeological treasures left by an ancient population does not stand. A look at the flaking patterns on the rock shows that it coincides with random collisions between the stones that form rather than chiseled by human hands. In addition, the tools are brand new: it makes no sense for the ancients to create a whole store of valuable items without using them. Because if used, the tool must have cracks and wear marks.

Also, all of these "tools" are made of the same rock, which would make no sense if they were made by a group of people, since humans would experiment with a variety of stones they could find in the area. area. Nearby there is a rich agate quarry, which has the potential to make good tools, easy to exploit but completely untouched.

Previously, the team from the University of Zacatecas thought that this was a tool belonging to the first people to explore Central America, but it was like a "ghost people". Apart from this tool-like stone, there are absolutely no remains or traces of human life in the cave. Therefore, their existence remains controversial.
