Dawn has brought a whole new look to Vesta
On the morning of September 5, Dawn began a two-and-a-half-year journey to Ceres research, AFP derived from NASA's Dynamics Laboratory in Pasadena, California.
The Dawn spacecraft arrived at the planet orbit of Vesta in July 2011 on the first mission of the asteroid research mission since its launch in September 2007.
Thanks to Dawn, experts discovered Vesta is not an asteroid, although it is located in the main asteroid belt of the solar system. In fact, it is a baby planet, which has a solid core like the earth.
After completing the mission in Vesta, Dawn set out for Ceres and is expected to approach the dwarf planet in early 2015.
